Flurbiprofen

Flurbiprofen is a painkiller that is part of the group of drugs known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Flurbiprofen not only relieves pain, but also has a fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory effect.
Flurbiprofen is prescribed for the treatment of a sore throat (in the form of a lozenge or throat spray).

Flurbiprofen and the benefit of DNA analysis

The rate at which flurbiprofen is processed within your body varies from one individual to another. This means that the efficacy and side effects of flurbiprofen can be predicted to some extent on the basis of your genes. Preventive DNA analysis can therefore be an important tool in optimising your medication.
